ABOUT OUR HERD

There are many different types of farmers, but we're driven by a desire to preserve our countryside and conserve a special breed of cattle: the Old English Longhorn.

As the custodians of our beautiful landscape and these equally beautiful beasts, we take our responsibility very seriously.

The success we have had at country shows over the years is just the cherry on the cake – the hard work is done throughout the year and across the decades.

We love to breed the very best of the best, but we are also very proud of the work we have done to return much of Park Farm to pasture – and of course the success of our Old English Longhorn.

Our flocks

About our sheep

We run two small flocks of pedigree sheep, our Jacob sheep and a more recently established Border Leicester flock. From Max and Aslan standing outside church on the day we got married, to Iona and Bertie cutting their teeth by winning young handlers trophies, the sheep are truly part of our family at Park Farm.

And they have been successful, too. Hyndshaw Gareth was our first Yorkshire Show champion back in 2011, Sharon was Yorkshire Show champion in 2021, and her son and daughter Nugget and Brownie were male and overall champion in 2023.
